Nanowrimo (National Novel Writers Month)

As I always do at this time of year, this year once again I'm indulging in Nanowrimo - the challenge being to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. I've been doing this every year for the past five years (this is my sixth), though I've not mentioned it before as I wasn't writing erotica for the challenge.

This year, however, I'm working on an erotic romance novel that I'm planning to submit to an online publisher. With publishing being what it is these days I can't serialise the whole novel on here (and I wouldn't want to, this is a very quickly written first draft), as publishers tend to insist that any work they publish is brand new and unpublished elsewhere (including online) but I thought you might still be interested in knowing what I'm up to. The first draft will be complete at the end of this month (I'm 10,000 words in as we speak) and then I'll be editing and submitting the finished novel. So what's the plotline? I'm writing a spy romance set in a steampunk version of London. My lead character (Emma) meets a fabulously handsome gentleman spy (they're always all fabulously handsome in romance novels) whilst involved in a case, so we have the ongoing spy plot peppered with all manner of hopefully rather fun and explicit sexual sequences, including most of my favourites: voyeurism, domination, group sex and girl-girl are all present in abundance. I think I'm going to rather enjoy writing it ;)

So what are you getting up to this November? If it's something particularly filthy or disgraceful do tell me about it, I may be able to use it for some lovely inspiration whilst I'm writing...

And I'm still way, way behind on email replies - please forgive me, I've been writing up a storm lately (also working on some detective fiction amongst other things) and I've let the replies slide somewhat. I do love hearing from you, particularly when you send me disgraceful things, so don't imagine I'm not reading it. Quite the reverse, I read and enjoy everything that's sent to me xx
